Hastings Kickboxing Academy
28 juniors and 3 adults graded over the weekend with some fantastic achievements at HKA.
For the second time at HKA we have had a strong number of fantastic young children filter through out anti bulling schooling program we run with many local schools in the area. Some of our young children now starting to go through their grades and are looking at competing later on this year.
The gradings don’t just grade the children in martial arts it helps then to understand time keeping for events. Making sure they have everything they need on the day. Working under pressure, along with discipline, respect, and all the other good attributes Kickboxing can help improve their lives.
Instructor Carl Denne and Jennifer Denne took the groups in small numbers as there were assessed and marked throughout the afternoon.

All passing their intense grading.
Dave warren, old friend/training partner and sportsman of Carl’s has made a strong comeback into the work of Kickboxing, after 5 years out of the sport, Dave has studied many forms of martial arts in the last 10 years, but after a hard few years Dave come back to HKA where he has found his home again, Dave already a former junior brown belt for the old HMA days, Under stood he needed to be re graded, so Dave sat an assessment under to close watch of Instructors Carl and Jenny,
Dave started off in the Red grade (level 1) and worked his way through the system, You can only move on a level if you A1+ the grading, (95% or above)
Dave passed Red,Yellow, Orange, Green levels with a 98% pass rate, joining Nick and Nathan in to purple grade, All 3 men worked extremely hard for over 2 hrs without a break, having to show many different skills and drills along with demoing various attacks and defensive knowledge on the pads and then each other, along with two against one sparring showing theirs skills under pressure and then finished off with and 30min intense fitness test.All 3 men passed with A and B grades,
They now face one more grade before we move onto Brown and Black belts.
