Hastings Kickboxing Academy goes to its first Semi contact show of the year.

Raja was first up and had a fantastic first outing being the quicker and more skilled fighter from the off and was dominating throughout, getting her a clean win.

Gee Denne was next into to ring and was matched against a boy 2 years older and with 15 fights to his name compared to Gees 6. This was a great match to watch and for all 3 rounds it was hard to say who the better man was. With oth his great hands and leg speed, Gee was fighting with a height disadvantage but it didn’t phase him, both young men put on a great show for everyone, at the final bell it was tight, no other decision could be reached but a draw.

Gavin Bloomfield also went in for his first bout in the sport, after dominating for all 3 rounds, he pushed his man back with faster shots and kicks, catching him with every other shot and having his man on the canvas twice, however, the judge awarded the other man a win.

Raja had a second fight of the day and was matched against a young lady over a foot taller than her. The opposition came in hard for a semi contact bout and not giving Raja a moments rest. The 3 minutes were non stop action and at the final bell although Raja not being victorious came out holding her head up high for just taking the bout.

Instructor Carl Denne would like to thank everyone who came up to support the club along with Coach Jenny for helping in the corner and help prep the fighters throughout the day.

HKA has now moved to larger premises at William Parker sports college.
