Hastings man Claud Sinden battles through every day of his life never knowing if he is going to be paralysed or not when he wakes in the morning and spending up to 80 percent of his life in a wheelchair.
Claud, aged 34, suffers from an undiagnosed condition which causes sleep paralysis so no two days may ever be the same.
He has baffled top neurological doctors for the past 18 years. Surgeons across the globe have been trying to get to the bottom of his paralysis.
Claud can never plan anything with his loving and very supportive wife and children as he may wake to find himself paralysed from the waist and, sometimes, from the neck down.
Yet despite living with this condition Claud has been an active member of Hastings Kickboxing Academy for over four years now.
Hastings Kickboxing Academy has offered Claud a new lease of life. He is welcomed with open arms by every member and is a valued member of the team.
Claud said: “I am never treated as being any different from any of the other members I’m one of the gang”.
Claud participates in all training routines and spars regularly with other members. He has immense core strength and will not ever give up he is a real committed member.
