Where do I start……..
Firstly opening the show we had 35 LOUD drummers from sticks in Eastbourne setting the scene with some strong wars to come. Chance for the crowd to sit back and enjoy, with a well-received performance, it was a nice way to open the show.
First up was for HKA was Millie Sarton.
Age 12 in only her 3rd fight to date (previous 2 Light cons)
She stepped up to try out the evening show scene. Millie was matched against a girl that was 5kgs heavier and with 30+ fights under her belt.
Some may point out anyone unbalanced matching this was my choice as to test Millie, hence being a demo bout I wanted to see how she would perform under pressure under the watchful eye and safety of me and the Ref. The no bout decision was just the start of the next step and the future for Millie, she performed outstandingly and well above what was asked.
Next up, The Mighty Atom Phoebe Cumisky
What a battle, both girls amazingly strong in the toughest toe to toe battle I’ve ever seen from 2 junior girls in the ring. Both girls wanted it and for me phoebe was the stronger of the 2 but Alicia Chambers was no easy fight, but half way through the fight Alicia didn’t want to come out of the corner to finish the match and retired from the fight, crowning Miss Cumisky ICO Junior 5 nations Champion.
Stacey Lee Cooper took on her 2nd ever fight (1 light con last week) Again in a demo bout she has shown so much potential over the last few months since she started with HKA. She has proven to be an awesome fighter with real heart, this is just the beginning of a great future from this young lady!
Dan White stepped into the ring in his first Full contact Kickboxing fight, in a hard battle for 3 rounds. Both men were back and forth for the whole fight in a split decision that went to the other fighter from TKO.
Nathan Smith, steps onto the ring for another tough match and strong man standing in front of him. Nathan went straight to work and put his man under pressure, and won the first round, Ahmed his opponent came back in the second and landed some strong body kicks slowing Nathans pace a little, After a strong talking to in the corner he went and finished the fight strong dominating the third, All 3 judges awarded Smith unanimous victor. Nath now unbeaten in 5 fights moves on to an English title shot next month against a strong fighter.
Last fight and for me Fight of the night – Hayley Ward Vs Lisa Maloney for Ireland had a 5 round war. Both girl game and both girls knew that that had to work to better the other. But every round Hayley was a little quicker, found her range faster and used the ring to the best of her ability, don’t get me wrong Lisa was there for all 5 rounds and never gave up and battled to the final bell. Hayley couldn’t afford to step off the gas for one second. From a personal point that’s the best I’ve seen Hayley fight and probably the best female fight I watched for many years, on point, on range, pin point perfect for 85% of the fight! This girl has a great future and I’m sure will be a super star. (That she’d not already)

I can’t put into words how happy I am of the night and Fight team alike, I’m extremely proud of what we have achieved in the fight night series, and planning has already started for……
