Hastings Kickboxing Academy traveled to Suffolk for Suffolk Showdown 4 for a full contact evening show run by Pete Dunnete.
Ewan Speer matched against a strong and game opponent Ethan from TKO, Ewan has done incredibly well in the last 12 months and has lost over 10kgs in weight, Ewan only 15 years old has worked so hard to achieve the weight cutting but due to his height always gets matched against fighters a lot taller than himself, this never fazes him and is always wins the crowds suppport to win, every match Ewan gives is 100%, battling with heart and courage and tonight was no different, Ewan the stronger man of the 2, in a very close fight that could of gone either way Ewan lost on a majority decision due to not throwing enough kicks in the third round. instructor Carl Denne “For me Ewan improves with every fight, he always comes away smiling and ready for another, he is still young and has incredible game”
Next into the ring, Stacey cooper. “Stacey is one of the strongest females i’ve ever taught to date and every fight she continues to impress me, Stacey was matched against and strong and skilled young lady from PWKA. Stacey went out and set the pace early on, with strong and fast hands nicely balanced with a strong re-set drill we have been working on one rate last few weeks, Stacey controlled tho bout for all 3 rounds wining the match 3 rounds unanimous”
Instructor Carl Denne Continues “I extremely happy with our teams performance this weekend, my guys always fight with heart and honour, I only ever ask that do their best! and some times if we don’t get the decision to take to on the chin, get back to the gym and start working on improving once more, We have a great skilled team of fighters at the moment, and now that I’m full time at HKA I’ve already started to see the change and progression in the team over the last 4 months”
