Well what a day, first time taking some of the teen fight team out to Battle of Kent. Gillingham.
And they did not disappoint.
Every single one of them showed great skill and determination in the ring today.
Some tough tough fights too.
First up in the ring was Bailey Morgan, was very nervous to begin with, but once got in there soon found his feet and found himself in complete control and showing great skill. 22sec in the first round kicked his opponent with a roundhouse to the stomach, was perfectly placed, and his opponent unable to continue. Win by stoppage to Bailey.
2nd up was Callum Helsdown. Looked comfortable in the ring, finding his range, and controlled the first round of the fight going to him, 2nd round Callum went In strong ,did a jumping back kick, and unfortunately it happened when his opponent through a front kick, so they clashed. And the other lad was unable to continue. 2nd round stoppage to Callum.
3rd up was Jake Willard, yes small for his age, but boy does he not let that stop him, as soon as that bell went, Jake was in throwing punches and kicks continuously, the other lad trying to come forward and was also very strong, but Jake kept on pushing through and continued flat out for every single round. Wearing his fighter down. So impressed with Jakes pure determined and all his efforts. Clear win to him.
4th up was Henry Baldwin, again first ever fight, and not been training for that long, but wanted to get in there and give it a go.
And kept pushing on forward and throwing combination after combination. Great hard fight and another win for the team.
5th up was Leyton Glover-sims. After having a year off from fighting, came back today, after uping his training and and working on what was need to improve his skills.
This lad has never had an easy fight, every fight he has been given has been very hard and so so tough, and today was no different for Leyton, the other lad much more experienced than Leyton and actually starting to become a K1 fighter.
Leytons appointed was tall stronger and yer today the better fighter, but Leyton never gave up, kept pushing forward, and seriously took some heavy heavy shots, this fight turned into a full con war.
Leyton every time he steps into the ring amazes me, has a real heart of a fighter and this will take him along along way.
6th up was Ellis Barlow, again a little nervous before getting in the ring, her first ever fight. But this girl has real power and continued to wear her fighter down round after round. Also being the fitter fighter of the two continued to take the lead and win the fight, so well done to her.
Next up 7th was James Early not been training very long, but wanting to fight and has upped his training, and training so hard in every lesson. This was a very hard fight, both lads tall, with long reaches. Through heavy kicks and punches.
Both fighters going a bit wild and both there first fights.
A very good fight, and both lads worked soo hard, this time going to the other Star lad, so well done to him.
8th up was Oliver a tough tough fight, and evenly matched. Oliver was the stronger fighter by far, wearing his appointment down on every round. Some great head punches , and continuously on that front foot, great hands ollie, yes was maybe told to lighten up a bit , but first time fighting, showed great ring craft and skill. A clear win to him.
Last up was Billy -joe Fitzgerald and what a fight to finish off our day.
It’s was tough and hard, both fighters first time, and both of them wanted that win so bad, some heavy heavy shots been thrown a real war of a fight start to finish. This fight ended in a draw, totally happy with that result. Billy worked his butt off and took some shots too. Great fight to watch and end the day with.
Once again myself and Jenny are very proud of the team today. Every single of one you. Looking forward to going at it all next week end 😊
