HKA travelered up to Greys in Essex for Cyclone Fight night.
Callum Helsdown jumped back in the ring in his 2nd ever full contact bout, A slow and shaky start and struggled to find his range against a taller, older heavier man (as the fighter was changed last min) although this didn’t bother Callum just meant a taller hill to climb, Round 2 Callum found his feet and started to kick his opponent back and slow him down, allowing him to settle and start controlling the fight. One round to each fighter all to play for, both lads battled hard, Callum’s strength and skills started to shine through, A great close fight, but Callum showed he was the better Kickboxer and went on for his second F/C win.
Next up George French, after a few bouts that haven’t gone our way. Looks like we found the old George again. A great fight against a very strong and determined Irish lad, (Adam Keane) Round one was very close and anyone’s to take really, trade for trade, round 2 George settled down to take control with some strong and on point kicks that would slow the strongest of men down, round 3 again a very close round, both lads wanting the win, George took a few BIG hits, but TOOK them like the champ he gritted his teeth and carried on to finish the round in control. HKA’s second fight and 2nd win of the evening.
George is a very skilled and up and coming fighter, after an impressive win streak early on, he stepped up massively, and to be fair maybe a step to far (for nowJ)
Thank you everyone who came up to support and brought the noise, VERY LOUD. I know the team appreciate it.
On a personal note, very proud of the team last night, we always take fights even if the odds are stacked against us… there’s no shame in losing against a stronger fight, but at least you took it…. Still lots work on. But for now we’re take the wins 😉 and get back to the gym tomorrow ready to carry on the hard work.
