Battle of Kent. Gillingham.

Last weekend HKA and the team had a great day at Battle of Kent.

First up was Billy-joe. Having 2 fights and 2 wins, A massive well done, first fight was fantastic, Billy-joe only has one button, just goes in to fight, has no slow, or light mode, so feel that this was his last light con event.

Next up was Jesse Matten, first time in the ring, he did so well, never gave up, kept pushing, and listened, even though he didn’t get that win. A great first fight, and he should be very proud.

Jake Willard 2 hard fights, 2 fights that were full on from the word go. Jake worked so hard, he always does, another little champ that steps into the ring, and fight mode, instantly turns on. I few things we need to work on, Jake tough good fights, we learn, and we go back stronger.

Harvey Hutchison, first ever time stepping in the ring to compete, and hasn’t really been sparing that long, he lost his first fight, but worked hard, listened and kept going, the other fighter was just better, but Harvey the little warrior, came back and fought for a second time, and went in and smashed it, on the front foot always and worked so so hard. He got that win he wanted and so well deserved. Massive well done, and such a lovely boy.

Mollie Matten first ever fight, I felt she didn’t use all her power today, I think that was nerves and she was very late on, but she again was always on that front foot, pushed that girl constantly backwards. Listened, Fantastic first fight mollie. Get that confidence up, which will come with time, and your do even better nxt time.

Mason Oxley, only 7 years old, Perfect, 21 seconds that the fight lasted, Mason was just too strong for the other lad. Kick to the face, then two head shots to follow, the other kid was out. Mason listened though, new he needed to work on his legs, and he did. I know how gutted he was that he didn’t get to fight the 3 rounds, but a great result for him, and loads more to come.

Jordan Hiesley White pulled it out the bag, every time he fights, he just gets better and better, still some little tweaks to work on, but a fantastic fight, Jordan looked great in the ring. Heavy shots been thrown from both fighters but a clear win from Jordan. Awesome fight.

Leyton Glover Simms, a fantastic hard fight, I honestly thought he won it, first 2 rounds going to him, last round to the other lad, but the judges saw it diff, and it went to the other side. Leyton new what he had to work on, and worked his butt off in that ring, it honestly showed. Leyton been forced to have time off due to injury, so couldn’t train as much as he wanted or needed to. But he loves to fight, and as always I’m very proud of him.

Last Nick Lelliott, only had a demo fight, as he has been out of the ring for a year, but a nice little fight to get him used to being in the ring again, and working his ring craft and skill. Good controlled demo bout.
Hopefully get that K1 next time.
